Quantum2 Land Projects – Making a Real Change For the Better

At Quantum2, instead of just talking about things, we are literally taking the steps to create a new world. Here is an example of one of our land projects.

A Bit of History

For many years, until four years ago, the land had been used for conventional farming – growing crops with pesticides, herbicides and other pollutants. These harmful substances leached into the soil, groundwater, and nearby water channels, with the pollution eventually reaching the sea. In 2020 we started to turn that around.

The Regeneration Journey

In November 2024, after four years of natural growth, the results are in – thicker hedgerows, natural regrowth over 2 meters high, and a significant boost in naturally available nitrogen. We’re talking an increase from 0.25% to 0.34%! Why does that matter? As total nitrogen is 0.34%, we can cut back on artificial fertilizers, which means less air, soil and water pollution. For example, nitrogen from farming flowing into the sea is one of the major causes of algal blooms which depletes Oxygen and kills marine life, amongst other things.

With our hedgerows growing thicker, we are already storing more carbon in new growth. As the land regenerates naturally, our target to reduce atmospheric CO2 is a 30% increase in soil carbon levels. That’s not just great for soil health – it’s also a win for our global climate goals. Carbon absorption in soil can have a major impact on total atmospheric CO2.

A Win for Nature and Quantum2 Partners

Here’s the cherry on top: while helping nature recover and thrive, organisations partnering with us to transform their CSR costs into at a steady 7.5% income per year, members can achieve financial stability while making a positive impact on the environment and society. When you help the planet, the planet helps you right back with healthy air, more nutrient-rich food and cleaner water – that means less diseases like asthma, allergies, more energy and balanced development.

Good Soil = Better Future

Our November 2024 analysis shows additional improvements in chemical soil composition and pH levels, which means less leaching into rivers and better overall soil health. What’s next? With the land bouncing back beautifully, 2025 will see organic farming move ahead without artificial inputs. We are setting the stage for a sustainable farming future that benefits both people and the planet.
