Regenerating Farmland – Quantum2 Land Project “JA1 Central”

Welcome to the Land Project “JA1 Central”, where soil health, biodiversity, and CO2 sequestration are our top priorities, and where the land is being brought back to life.

The Vision: Regeneration, Not Just Farming

This project focuses on the regeneration of both the soil and the waterways, with the goal to create a healthy, sustainable environment where flora and fauna can thrive. We’re transforming land that was once conventionally farmed with all the pesticides, herbicides and the negative soil, water and air impact that entails, into a vibrant, natural organically farmed area – expanding the forest and hedgerows, creating new animal habitats, and ensuring that the land remains free from harmful pollutants.

Key Metrics: The Proof is in the Numbers

Here’s the good news: “JA1 Central” is already significantly improved. By measuring a wide range of metrics – everything from CO2 sequestration and pesticides quantities to soil health – we are on the right track. Let’s dive into some of the key improvements we’ve already seen:

• Hedgerows: +6% increase – expanded and thickened to provide more habitats for local wildlife, carbon absorption and healthier air quality.
• Soil pH: Ideal 7.0 – supporting healthy plant growth.
• Organic Carbon: 3.4% – that’s a 36% increase on surrounding conventionally farmed areas and the previous level on this site. 
• Natural Nitrogen: 0.35% – that’s a 46% increase from nearby conventional farmland and this site, contributing to more nutrient-rich soil and healthier crops in the future.

These are just a few of the positive metrics in the “JA1 Central” project. From pesticide-free soil to new species making their home in the area, the metrics show that we are moving in the right direction.
